Spring Break Closing Dates

Please note before making your March tuition payment, that Larimer Music will be closed March 22 through March 29 for Spring Break. We will reopen for lessons on Monday, March 30. Please adjust your March payment accordingly. We realize that this particular week isn’t every students’ Spring Break, but since Spring Break’s vary, we decided to close the week that school Town of Munster has Spring Break. If you have any questions, please let us know!

Welcome & Congratulations

Larimer Music wants to warmly welcome our newest piano student-Mira. We are excited to work with such an advanced accomplished pianist.

Congratulations to students Aubrey, Hunter and Kennedie for their “Golds” at ISSMA District competition yesterday. Hunter competed in Division I singing “Black is the Color of my True Love’s Hair” and will complete at the state level later this month. Kennedie competed in Division III with her solo of “Home” from Beauty and the Beast.
Pianist Aubrey received her “Gold” for a piano solo of Turkish Rondo by Mozart. Aubrey competed in Division I and, like Hunter, will compete later this month at the state level. All three students worked very hard on their pieces, and we are so proud of them!

happy halloween

Happy Halloween to our students and families! Be safe out there in this weather but be sure to get some goodies. You are welcome to share any unwanted candy with our lesson room candy bowl. Bwah hah hah hah!

Holiday Recital Set

Thank you all for your feedback on Holiday Recital dates. Since the majority of you agreed on Sunday, December 15th, we are making it official. Our recital will begin on Sunday, December 15 at 5:30 pm at Lansing Presbyterian Church, 2625 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL.
Please invite your family and friends to come out and hear our current (and a couple of former) piano and vocal students perform lovely Holiday and non Holiday songs. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help out with programs, cups, plates, refreshments, etc.

Munster high school’s The Addams Family

Congrats to our student, Hunter, who is currently starring in his very first musical production. It’s not very often that you land the lead at your first audition, but Hunter did it! He is playing Gomez Addams this weekend at MHS auditorium. The shows are tonight at 7 tomorrow at 7 and Sunday at 2. Tickets are on sale at Munaud.org or at the door. We can’t wait to see it.

Potential Holiday Recital Date

Students and Parents: While it’s only late September, it is time to begin planning for our Annual Holiday Recital. This year we would like to have it in December rather than mid November as we did last year. The tentative date of Friday, Dec 6 was selected at the end of August when we put together our school year calendar. However, it has since come to our attention that Dec 6 will not work for a few of our students. Therefore, we want to see if Friday, December 13 would work for all of you. We will likely have it at Lansing Presbyterian Church again at either 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm.

Please check your calendars for December and let us know if December 13 would work for you and/or your student. Thank you!

Welcome Back

Welcome back Amanda! Amanda was a vocal student with us throughout her high school years. After taking a couple of years off to explore jobs, education, and Christian service opportunities, she is now returning to us for more vocal lessons. We missed you, Amanda. We are excited that you are allowing us to work with you and your lovely voice once again!
