We are excited to announce that we are reopening our studio in June. To be specific, we will resume our in person lessons beginning June 1. For everyone’s peace of mind, we plan to ask students to do the following:
*remove shoes at the front door
*sanitize their hands before heading back to the music studio
*Sign (or have parent sign if under 18) a liability waiver on our website under our “Instructors & Pricing” heading
*Cancel lesson if feeling unwell or anyone in your family is unwell (or do an online lesson instead)
*Maintain a reasonable distance between themselves and other students and/or teacher—sorry no hugging 🙁
*No parents or siblings in the building, please remain in vehicles. If you wish to discuss anything with the teacher, please email or text.
On our part we promise to clean all surfaces (including doorbell) with disinfectant before each days’ lessons and maintain as much distance as possible from students without compromising the instruction. Masks are awkward to use but if it makes a student (or his/her parents) more comfortable about resuming lessons, we can wear them. However, with singing students it may hamper the progress of the student due to the importance of the teacher being able to see jaw, mouth, and tongue position.
If you are not comfortable resuming in person lessons this June, please let us know. We are willing to continue with online lessons for the summer. However, some students made the decision to “wait” out the quarantine and not take any lessons while most were doing online lessons. If you are one of those and you choose not to resume in person lessons in June, you may find that you’ve lost your “lesson spot”. Over the quarantine period we have had a number of inquiries from new students. As our lesson days/times are limited to 18 students, if you continue to delay, you may find yourself without a lesson time. Please check back here soon for our Summer Lesson Schedule to see if we have any openings or have tweaked the lesson start/end times.
If you have any questions or concerns about our reopening or wish to change day/times for lessons, please contact us.
